» Download an Overview of AER's Research Process
Our core belief is that stock prices follow earnings over the long term. We use our proprietary research methodology to identify what we believe to be sectors and stocks with improving or deteriorating fundamentals. This is accomplished by measuring money flow and price movements along with fundamental overlays. We believe that selecting what our research identifies as the top stocks in improving equity sectors is the key to successful performance.
An important element in our investment methodology is our sell discipline. We will generally have a sell on a stock when our research methodology indicates it is underperforming. Thus, we follow an unsentimental approach to investment decision making. AER’s commitment is to provide actionable buy and sell ideas for our clients based on the proprietary ranking system that is built into our research.
The AER Discipline
Our firm's approach begins with identifying changes in money flows and price movements across 36 equity sectors which includes over 3,000 large, mid and small market capitalization U.S. traded stocks and ADR’s. By combining the quantitative aspects of stock money flow with traditional fundamental security analysis, AER identifies stocks that we believe to have strong earnings growth, low valuation and positive money flow.
AER Research Templates:
- Tracks money flow and price changes in 36 equity sectors in the U.S.
- Identifies which groups to overweight (positive groups) and underweight (negative groups) in order to seek high relative returns with a focus on specific stocks.
- Provides timely buy and sell signals in an attempt to capitalize on areas of improving and/or deteriorating fundamentals.
- Assesses when sectors and stocks are overbought or oversold, a helpful tool for entry and exit. AER believes that the top 15 sectors provide the best opportunities for strong performance.
